COSON Week 2025… Organisers Unveil Captains For Activities

Ahead of this year’s COSON Week celebration, organisers have unveiled Captains of the different events of the much-anticipated show. Each captain and his vice will be responsible for coordinating the creative contents and establishing the protocols for their assigned event.

The event, which holds from November 1 to 7, has been referred to as the ‘World Cup’ of Nigerian Entertainment or the ‘Olympic Games’ of Nigerian showbiz.

Revealing the captains, COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji said, “each captain and his or her Vice have been appointed because they have an understanding of what is at stake. This group of people know that each event must be of world class standard. They have been chosen in recognition of their antecedents. They will deliver.”

The Captain for COSON in the Church, the superlative national day of prayer and invocation, which takes place at the KICC Prayer Dome in Maryland on Sunday, November 1, is gospel music generalissimo, Buchi Atonwu, while vivacious Aisha Joy Amosun is his vice.

Victor Nwokocha, publisher of Thespian Magazine and Acting General Manager of Audio Visual Rights Society (AVRS) is the Captain for The COSON Lecture, which holds at Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja on Monday, November 2. The theme of this year’s lecture is Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Economy. Mr Nwokocha’s vice captain is Mr Vincent Adawaisi, Head of Membership at COSON.

Dance Hall Star and producer, Dare Fasasi better known as Baba Dee will be captain of COSON in the Streets, which hits the streets of Lagos with a big show on the move on Tuesday, November 3. Street Activation star, Eze Delphinus Obi will be his vice.

APC Glamour Queen, Mrs Lucy Ajayi will be captain at The COSON Green Ball, as the nation’s crème de la crème dressed to kill walk the green carpet at the MUSON Centre Lagos on Wednesday, November 4. Mrs Ajayi will ensure that all the special guests to the Class ‘A’ event enjoy the best entertainment and dining money can buy. Mrs Ajayi will work with song star, Azeezat Allen.

Acclaimed entertainment Journalist and COSON Head of Licensing, Chibueze Okereke will be captain at Teslim Balogun Stadium on Thursday, November 5 as stars of Nigerian music, movies, comedy and their friends serve, return, cut, spin, smash and loop at the COSON All Stars Table Tennis Blow Out.

Now Muzik King Pin, Efe Omorogbe will be captain at the COSON Song Awards, which explodes at the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel & Suites on Friday, November 6. Omorogbe will handle the big show but have absolutely nothing to do with the nominations. Efe Omorogbe will be working with COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, the father of entertainment award events in Nigeria, to create an unforgettable spectacle. Now, everyone knows that the only way to describe the COSON Song Awards is wow!

For COSON Storms the Beach on Saturday, November 7, all roads will lead to Atican Beach Resort, off Abraham Adesanya Estate in Ajah. Renowned producer and artiste manager, Seyi Allen will be captain. Seyi and Baba Dee will do a historic collabo to co-ordinate the array of music stars, DJs, Comedians and Nigeria’s most acclaimed fun merchants who will congregate at Atican Beach Resort, the happiest place on earth on Saturday, November 7.

Just before the beginning of COSON Week, specifically on Friday, October 30, COSON will be at the Mosque and the captain will be Fuji music homeboy, Sikiru Agbola better known as SK Sensation.

A major item on the COSON Week grand slam is the Nigerian Music Machine the multi-page all gloss magazine featuring iconic stories, photos and info. The captain of the Nigerian Music Machine is acclaimed journalist and editor, Al Humphrey Onyanabo. Mr Onyenabo will be working with COSON’s Head of New Media, Ms May Uket.
