The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) was filled with excitement this weekend as students gathered for one of the most vibrant blockchain meetups of the year: “Learn, Meme, and Earn: MemeCore Campus Vibes.”

Hosted by MemeCore in collaboration with BlockchainUNN, the first Layer-1 blockchain built around memes and community-driven culture, the meetup attracted hundreds of young people eager to understand Web3 and discover how they can take part in building the fast-growing MemeCore ecosystem.

Nigeria has become one of the world’s fastest-growing crypto markets, and this event showed exactly why. With blockchain education still scarce in classrooms, MemeCore created an opportunity for students to engage directly with the future of digital culture, finance, and innovation. One of the speakers, Annaelechukwu, noted, “This isn’t just about crypto. It’s about giving young Africans the tools to turn creativity into value and communities into opportunities.”

The keynote, led by @EdireofWeb3, “Decoding Web3 and the MemeCore Ecosystem,” simplified complex blockchain concepts into relatable examples, showing how memes are evolving into powerful tools for creativity, engagement, and even earning potential through what MemeCore calls Meme 2.0.

A major highlight of the day was the panel discussion, “Inspiring Contributions in Web3 and MemeCore.” Speakers, including Eze Stanley, Okey Designs, @EdireofWeb3, and Annaelechukwu, shared inspiring perspectives on how students can get involved through coding, design, community engagement, or entrepreneurship.

Special appreciation goes to ED for his impactful keynote, which explained the MemeCore project in detail while shedding light on the role of Layer 1 blockchains in shaping the future.

The event was not only about learning but also about fun and connection. Students participated in rebus puzzles, ludo, chess, and other interactive group games, which created an atmosphere of collaboration, laughter, and networking. The blend of serious conversations with playful activities made the day unforgettable.
