Officials and players of Abuja Football College, who at the weekend made history by defeating Real Madrid Juniors in the finals of U19 Mladen Ramljak tournament, have still not come to terms with their feat.

Before the recent feat, the Abuja Football College had participated in the tournament three times, winning bronze twice medal in the annual event organised by GNK Dinamo in the honour of their deceased legend, Mladen Ramljak.

An elated administrator of the Abuja College, Kumbi Titiloye, said the team’s success was as a result of the side’s hard work and determination.

Titiloye, who praised the efforts and determination of both the players and coaches at the competition, charged the team to keep up the spirit.

At this year’s competition were the junior sides of Maribor FC, Dinamo Zagreb, Copenhagen FC, Maccabi Haifa, Sarajevo, Real Madrid, Football College Abuja and Hadjuk Split of Croatia.

Abuja Football College’s Abdullahi Suleiman was named the best player and highest goal scorer of the tournament, while Maribor’s keeper, Nino Irgoli, and Javier Hernandez of Real Madrid were named best goalkeeper and best defender respectively.
