Emmanuel Michael and Aina Goodnews, yesterday, caused the first major upsets at the ongoing 46th
CBN National Tennis Championship by defeating tournament’s number one men and women’s seeds, Adeleye Daniel and Khadijat Mohammed respectively in the quarterfinals.

Daniel succumbed to the superior fire power of Michael, who defeated him in two straight sets of 6-1, 7-6 to halt the top-ranked Adeleye’s big ambition.

In the women’s category, Goodnews proved too tough for Mohammed, beating the number one seed 2-1 ( 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 ) in their quarterfinals clash.
