All set for Ikoyi Club’s Lady Captain Day golf event

The 2021 Lady Captain Day Golf event of the Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf section has been fixed for February 16. The event tagged ‘Edith Udegbe 2021,’ is scheduled to tee off by 6:30 am.

Udegbe, the Lady Captain, who is to be celebrated for efforts and great achievements recorded within tenure, has assured good planning towards hosting memorable events.

Udegbe told journalists that it had been an interesting and innovative year for the lady sub-section, adding that the Lady Captain’s position is to take care and lead the ladies of the Ikoyi golf sub-section.

“Though the COVID-19 pandemic has not allowed us to achieve all that we planned, however, the 2020/2021 Ladies sub-committee was able to bring a new insight into relationship building, virtual meetings, handicap/Etiquette classes and curriculum for the new intake,” she stated.

Udegbe added that despite the absence of many tournaments, the Lady sub-section of Ikoyi Club was able to keep tab with its sponsors and secure their assurances.

“Despite all the constraints posed by the pandemic, our players were able to maintain their playing standard. Seline Hainsworth was the winner of the order of merit,” Udegbe added.
