Over the last decade, Borussia Dortmund had been Bayern Munich’s major challengers for the Bundesliga title. But this season, three other challengers have entered the fray with Borussia Monchengladbach leading the chase.

This weekend, Bayern Munich will continue their quest to retain their crown despite the new odds when they welcome Wolfsburg.

Featuring an array of footballing superheroes whose on-field special powers are worthy of a Marvel Comics movie, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg Bundesliga battle will be the focus of followers of the German game.

Bayern cannot afford to drop any more points, because frankly, the Bundesliga no longer seems to be a one-horse race. They will have to make full use of the might of the Allianz Arena, and get the better of tough customers, Wolfsburg.

The likes of Monchengladbach, Leipzig, Schalke, etc have raised their levels to make Bayern’s life tough. The Munich outfit needs to get back to their menacing best as soon as they could if they are not to be challenged mercilessly in the final weeks for the Bundesliga crown.

Bayern was almost held to a draw the last match-day on the road, by Freiburg. The score was tied at 1-1 even into the injury time, but the vast experience the Bavarians have had in dealing with crunch situations came to their aid, as they scored twice in the space of 180 seconds, after 90+2 minutes had passed on the game clock.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg had to dig deep to find the equalizer at home, against Schalke the last match-day. The hosts were trailing 0-1 even with just 10 minutes left till the final whistle, but Kevin Mbabu appeared saviour for Wolfsburg in the 82nd minute, as he helped the home team to salvage a point.
