Vandrezzer FC Coach, Tony Bolus, has said that his team will be the next club in Lagos to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The team, on Tuesday, won Lagos State Football Association/ Winners Golden Bet (LSFA/WGB) FA Cup final played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

Vandrezzer FC defeated Box2Box FC 1-0 through a lone goal scored by Lekan Abdusalam in the 81st minute.

In the women category, Robo FC white-watched Young Talents 4-0 in a one-sided game.

“Our victory was expected and winning the Lagos FA Cup, which featured about 99 teams, is something I am so happy about.

“The road to winning the cup was not an easy journey, but we really prepared for it. I told the players the importance of the game and the strength of our opponents. We later came back at them by making two substitutions that did the magic.

“This cup is one of the greatest things that I have ever achieved. I have won a league before as an assistant coach, but I am happier winning this one as a coach.

“My players are really preparing for the new league season and hopefully by the grace of God, we will be the next club from Lagos to be in the NPFL,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Marketing Manager, Winners Golden Group, Patricia Popoola, has said the firm is satisfied with the outcome of the competition.

“As the competition progresses each year, we will expand what we have done previously. The firm won’t limit its effort and our partnership with Lagos State FA is a way of giving back to society, as a means of corporate social responsibility.

“More importantly, we have been able to sponsor new stars to get to the limelight at the end of the day,” she stated.
