Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for September.

Leverkusen announced Boniface as the winner on their X handle on Friday.

Boniface has now won the first two Rookie Player of the Month awards for the season.

The 22-year-old beat off competition from RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons and Hoffenheim’s forward Maximilian striker to land the award.

He scored two goals and provided three assists in four appearances for Bayer Leverkusen in September.

He has gone on to make his debut for the Super Eagles in last month’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against São Tomé and Principe.

In his debut game, he provided an assist for Samuel Chukwueze as the Eagles won 6-0.

On Friday, he made his first start for the Eagles in Friday’s international friendly game against Saudi Arabia.
