Boxing Federation Calls 26 To All Africa Games Camp

The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has invited 26 boxers and four coaches to begin final training for the All Africa Games scheduled for Congo Brazzaville in September.

boxing-glovesThe Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has invited 26 boxers and four coaches to begin final training for the All Africa Games scheduled for Congo Brazzaville in September.
 
The boxers’ camp will open on Monday at the Kenneth Minimah Boxing Hostel, within the Brai Ayonote Complex, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
 
According to the NBF, the invitees, who are winners and runners-up in their various weight categories at the just concluded Kenneth Minimah Open Boxing Championship in Lagos, include Azeez Dauda (49 kg), Muyideen Oyakajo (49 kg), Taiwo Abiodun (52 kg), Akinolugbade Lukman (52 kg), Sanusi Abiodun (56 kg), Olayinka Yusuf (56 kg), Oladosu Rilwan (60 kg), Soyoye Kazeem (60 kg), Waheed Shogbamu (64kg) and Samuel Opaogun (64 kg).

Others are Olufemi Oyeleye (69 kg), Korede Adeniji (69 kg), Kehinde Ademuyiwa (75 kg), Danuloko Ekele (81 kg), Musa Nehikhare (81 kg), Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Apochi Efetobor (91kg), Gabriel Francis (91kg), Efe Ajagba (+91kg), who also won a bronze medal at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Segun Ibrahim (+91 kg).
 
In the women category are Caroline Linus of the Nigerian Army (51kg), Chioma Nwakpa (51 kg), Kehinde Obareh, also of the Nigerian Army (60 kg), Dupe Akinola (60 kg), Jacinta Umunakwe (75 kg) and another Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, Edith Ogoke Agu (75kg).
 
The four coaches to train the boxers are the NBF Head Coach, Tony Konyegwachie, Adura Olalehin, Jeremiah Okorodudu and Christopher Friday.
 
Also invited to join the camp are the two junior boxers expected to represent Nigeria at the forth-coming Commonwealth Junior Boxing Championship in Samoa.
 
They are Aliu Ibrahim, a lightweight boxer and Etim Henry Effiong, who fights in the bantamweight category. Coach Sabo
