Edo Queens lose second NWFL Super Six game as FC Robo shock Bayelsa

Edo Queens, who were one of the pre-tournament favourites in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six Championship, yesterday lost their second straight match in the competition to Sunshine Queens of Akure.
The winner of the competition will qualify for the WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League. Edo Queens, this time in the absence of the State’s Football Moving Force, Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, lost 1-2 to Sunshine Queens of Akure.
Suliat Abideen opened scoring for Sunshine in the eight minute, but Edo Queens equalised in the 20th minute. Sunday Abigail nailed Edo Queens in the 22nd minute with the winning goal, to take Sunshine Stars to the top of the table lead on four points.
The big upset on Day Two was the shocking result recorded by lowly rated FC Robo of Lagos, who beat Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa 2-0.Rivers Angels held Delta Queens to a goalless draw in the last game of the day.
Today is rest day in the competition, but action continues tomorrow and on Friday before a second rest day on Saturday.
