Super Eagles Interim Manager, Austin Eguavoen, is expected to release the list of players that will prosecute the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Libya, this week, ahead of players’ arrival on Sunday.

Nigeria will host Libya’s Mediterranean Knights in their third game of the qualifying series on October 11, at the Akwa Ibom Stadium, Uyo, and travel to Benina for the second leg on October 15.

Nigeria defeated Benin Republic 3-0 in Uyo in their first game of the series and travelled to Kigali to hold Rwanda to a goalless draw. A top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) told The Guardian that the list of players for the matches would be out this week (could be today), adding that arrangements have been completed for the team’s camp, which will open in Uyo, on Monday, next week.

“The list has been compiled and letters have been sent to the chosen players, who are expected in Nigeria this weekend,” the official, who pleaded anonymity, said. “The players know how important it is to begin preparations early, so, we expect them at the latest on Sunday. The team will start training on Monday,” he said.

The Super Eagles first game against the Mediterranean Knights holds at 5.00 p.m. while the return leg has been fixed for 8.00 p.m., in Benina, some 19 kilometres outside the country’s second biggest city, Benghazi.

Libya is bottom of Group D following a 1-1 draw at home to Rwanda (a game that was played at the Tripoli International Stadium) and a 1-2 loss to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Abidjan.
