ARE you looking for where to spend your Friday night? Look no further as the EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has included Friday night games into its calendar.
Starting from today, lovers of the EuroMatch NPFL will have the opportunity to watch their favourite teams play in the cool evening with all the raznmatazz that accompany the matches on the pitch.
For those who follow the games on television, the organisers of the league have made plans to broadcast more games of the 2026/27 of the EuroMatch NPFL season live with the rescheduling of the fixtures to accommodate Friday night matches.
According to EuroMatch NPFL, its broadcast partners, Murphy Ben International, recently took delivery of another set of state-of-the-art production equipment that would see new regional products centres that would ease logistics worries.
Recently, the Chief Operating Officer of the league, Dr Ayo Abdulrahman, in a memo to the EuroMatchNPFL clubs chairmen and general managers, explained the need to provide the broadcast partners access to more game days which was not possible under the framework of the original fixtures.
Starting with Matchday 8, fans can enjoy three live games from Katsina on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday from Kano where Ranchers Bees and Barau FC will play with visiting opponents.
Meanwhile, the EuroMatch NPFL has fined Sporting Lagos Coach, Jeffery Buter, N500,000 and cautioned to refrain from unsubstantiated public statements on the league and referees.
This was the outcome of an inquest held on Wednesday during which the coach admitted that he was in error in his press Interview after the Lagos Derby with Ikorodu City on Wednesday, September 30.
The panel said the lenient sanction imposed on the coach was based largely on his admission of error and his relatively young experience as a coach in the NPFL.
The league used the opportunity to urge other coaches and clubs officers to refrain from reckless statements that tend to undermine the perception of the EuroMatchNPFL in the minds of the public.
Coaches and clubs officers have been further advised to take advantage of official dispute resolution mechanisms to seek redress and lodge complaints.
Buter has been given seven working days to pay the fine or risk more stringent sanctions.
