Former Super Falcons coach, Godwin Izilien, has declared that Japan 6-0 spanking of Falconets at the weekend in the ongoing FIFA Women U-20 World Cup taking place in Papua New Guinea, is a total embarrassment to Nigeria football.

Izilien who stated that the Falconets who have been performing well in the last two editions of the cadet championship, where one of the top teams expected to make a mark in the championship. He said that the girls would have played with more zeal and commitment to ensure they where not over run by the Japanese side by a wild goal margin.

Izilien also wondered why the Falconets that have been playing well in the tune up matches could not with stand the strength of the Japanese girls.

He how ever, charged the Falconets to forget the Japanese defeat and prepare ahead for their next group game against Canada, saying that victory in the match would keep their hope alive.

‘’I am disappointed that the Falconets fell so cheap to the Japanese side. Nigeria teams don’t deserve this type of result, base on the level of our achievements in soccer. I can’t say they have fatigue problem because they arrive the country early. The problem of the team can only be explained by the coach.
