Super Eagles forward and newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has denied reports circulating online that he distributed cars to players and officials of the club following his recent appointment.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Musa described the claim as “entirely untrue” and urged the public and media platforms to verify information from credible sources before dissemination.
“I urge the public, media outlets, and individuals on social media to verify information from credible sources before sharing,” Musa said. “Spreading unverified news not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the club and its leadership.”
He added that his current focus remains on strengthening the club ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Musa was appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars last Friday, following the approval of a new management structure by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The appointment, announced through a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, is part of efforts to reposition the club and build on its 9th-place finish in the last NPFL season.
The government also reconstituted a 17-member board to work alongside Musa. Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara) was named Chairman, with members drawn from across Kano’s football and sports management landscape.
The Kano State Government said it expects the new leadership team to harness Musa’s experience as a former player and captain of the national team to drive Kano Pillars’ ambitions in the upcoming season.
