Ahmed Musa unveils 9-point plan to revive Kano Pillars

Ex-Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, on Thursday unveiled a nine-point agenda to revive the past glory of the two-time Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champion, Kano Pillars FC.

The ex-CSKA Moscow star, Musa, was recently appointed by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, as the new General Manager of Pillars FC.

Addressing a press conference at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Musa disclosed plans to uplift players’ welfare to explore the best performance of the team.

Besides, the new GM pledged commitment to explore new corporate sponsors to boost the club’s performance to complement government funding.

He assured that they have started taking steps to ensure that what happened last season does not occur again. “We are going for the trophy this time around,” he said.

“I come with a nine-point agenda for the club to revive the glory of the club. That is why I urge Kano sports lovers to fully support us. I promise to do all I can to revive the club.”

He said it is a very difficult job being both a General Manager and also a player. “I will give every player the chance to contribute fully, and as well with the fans. We don’t need to depend on government— with them and our jersey, we will have what it takes.”

Already, there is a huge presence of the club on social media since last week, and that is a great change the club needed. Soon, he said, things would change greatly.

“For now, we need the government to fully stabilize, and already with the management, we have started writing letters to many companies for sponsorship, and very soon we will get it right.”

“And let me further clarify this position—inside the pitch, I’m a player, and the coach has the right to punish me. But outside the pitch, I’m the boss. So the clarity is there.”
