Newly-signed Werder Bremen striker Victor Boniface said he is 100 per cent fit. If not, he would be in the hospital rather than preparing to play competitive football matches.
Boniface said this on Wednesday when asked about his fitness and failed medicals at AC Milan during his unveiling at his new Bundesliga club, Bremen, having joined on loan from Bayer Leverkusen on Monday.
“Whatever you want to believe on the media, you can believe them, that’s not on me. If the media says I am a good boy, you believe that or if they say I am a bad boy, you believe that, it is on you, whatever they say about me, it is on them, I don’t care,” Boniface said.
When pressed further about his full match fitness, the Nigerian international said, “If my body is not 100%, I will be in the hospital. I will not be here talking to you.”
Boniface also disclosed that he was streaming when he was told to come do his medicals at Bremen, but did not want his followers and fans to know about it.
“I couldn’t tell them online that I was going for my medicals, so I told them I was going to a wedding, I did my medicals, and came back to streaming,” the 24-year-old said.
Boniface, following a successful medical test, signed his Werder Bremen contract until June 2026, joining the club on loan with part of the salary covered by Leverkusen.
