Super Eagles Team B will tomorrow know their group opponents as the draw for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 holds in Nairobi, Kenya.

The draw will be conducted at the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre in Nairobi at 20:00 local time.

The CHAN Eagles eliminated arch-rivals Ghana 3-1 on aggregate to qualify for the competition after a six-year absence.

The top seeds include host nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda as well as defending champions Senegal.

The home-based Super Eagles may battle in a difficult group as they are not among the seeded teams in the draw. They could be drawn against any of these top seeds in the group stage of the tournament that will hold between February 1 and 28, 2025.

CAF has picked three legends to take part in the ceremony, with one each from co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. They are: Uganda’s Hassan Wasswa, Mrisho Ngasa of Tanzania, and Kenya’s McDonald Mariga.

A total of 19 nations, including hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and defending champions Senegal will be engaged in the draw to officially map out the tournament’s month-long schedule.

According to a release by CAF yesterday, Wasswa, Ngasa and Mariga have contributed to the ever-growing standard of African football, and have left their mark on the game in their respective countries.

Wasswa, who’s national team career spans over a decade, has been a long time servant of Ugandan football. In addition to representing the Cranes 75 times, the defensive midfielder also enjoyed a career in Turkey and Saudi Arabia before his 2021 retirement.
