As part of an ongoing effort to boost grassroots football development, the much-anticipated Innovative Super Cup kicks off in New Karu, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, October 12.

Organised by Coach Raymond Stephen Kantoma and Skillful Soccer Academy, the competition is the first edition of a secondary school football tournament in the area.

The tournament holds the prospect of bringing together top schools from the region for four weeks of exhilarating football action.

Six secondary schools will battle it out on the field, competing for the prestigious title. The participating schools include: Innovative International School (New Karu, Nasarawa State) and Christ Great Gift Schools (New Karu, Nasarawa State).

Others are Teepak International Academy (New Karu, Nasarawa State), Hope of Destiny International Schools (New Karu, Nasarawa State), Babcecil Schools (New Karu, Nasarawa State) and Best International School (Nasarawa State).

The tournament will run from October 12 to November 2, with matches played exclusively on Saturdays at the host venue, Innovative International School, New Karu.

Coach Raymond Kantoma, who is also the founder of Skillful Soccer Academy, has expressed his excitement about organizing this tournament, stating: “The Innovative Super Cup is more than just a competition; it’s a platform to nurture young talent and instill values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.

“We believe this tournament will inspire a new generation of football stars from Nasarawa State.”

The event promises to highlight the skills and dedication of secondary school students in Nasarawa State.
