Inter Milan sign Nigerian forward Richy Agbonifo from Hellas Verona

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Nigerian youth international Richy Agbonifo from Hellas Verona on a permanent deal.

The 19-year-old forward joins Inter after spending over a decade at Verona, where he progressed through the club’s youth academy. He first joined the academy at age six and developed into a regular feature in Verona’s youth and reserve teams.

Verona announced the transfer on Friday through an official statement. While details of the deal were not disclosed, sources familiar with the negotiations said the move was not a loan but a full transfer.

Agbonifo, who has represented Nigeria at youth level, is capable of playing in various attacking roles, including as a winger, forward, and attacking midfielder.

Inter Milan said the player would begin training with the first team under head coach Simone Inzaghi in the coming days. It is not yet clear whether he will join the senior squad for the upcoming Serie A season or be integrated initially into the club’s Primavera (U-19) team.

Agbonifo’s signing comes as Inter continue discussions with Atalanta over a potential move for another Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
