Iwobi stresses focus, determination as Fulham target strong finish

Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has insisted that Fulham FC will continue to fight until the end of the season despite a difficult run of results in recent weeks, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigerian midfielder acknowledged that the London club have struggled for consistency but stressed that the squad remains determined to push forward as the 2025-2026 campaign enters its final stages.

Fulham have lost four of their last six Premier League matches since early February and currently sit 10th on the table. Their most recent setback came in the FA Cup, where Marco Silva’s side were eliminated after a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Southampton.

Despite the team’s struggles, Iwobi has been in good form individually, scoring two goals and providing one assist in his last three league appearances.

Speaking on his YouTube vlog, the midfielder emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive mindset as Fulham aim to finish the season strongly.

“Just continue to be positive, continue to be vibrant. I always try to stay positive no matter what,” Iwobi said. “Results have not gone our way, but we’ll keep our heads up and keep fighting. We’ll give 100 per cent until the season is done.”

“My managers don’t mind what I do on social media as long as it’s positive,” he said. “They see it as a way for me to show my personality and connect with supporters.”

The midfielder revealed that the head coach of the team also follows and supports the content he shares online.
“All my managers encourage it, as long as I’m performing on the field,” Iwobi added.

He believes the content allows supporters a glimpse into players’ lives beyond match days, strengthening the bond between fans and footballers.

“It gives fans a different perspective and shows what happens behind the scenes,” he said.

Despite his growing online presence, the Nigerian international emphasized that his top priority remains his performance on the pitch.

“At the end of the day, the most important thing is delivering on the pitch,” he concluded.
