Southampton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nigerian international Paul Onuachu to Turkish club Trabzonspor.

The 31-year-old forward, who joined Southampton in early 2023, made 40 appearances for the club but scored only four goals, all coming in the 2022–23 season. That campaign ended in disappointment for the Saints, who finished bottom of the Premier League and were relegated to the Championship.

Onuachu spent the 2023–24 season on loan at Trabzonspor, where he enjoyed a more prolific spell, scoring 15 goals in 21 appearances.

In a statement on their official website, Southampton acknowledged his contribution and wished him success in the next stage of his career.

Onuachu, who made his debut for the Nigerian national team in 2019, has earned 24 caps and scored three goals for the Super Eagles. He was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
