The Nigeria National League (NNL) has promised a level-playing ground for the participating teams at the forthcoming NNL Super Eaglet playoff billed to be held in Asaba from July 5 to 8.
The NNL Super Eagles playoff, which is the second-tier league’s title-deciding championship, will feature Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma FC, and Barau FC.
The NNL said at the weekend that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, approved the staging of the competition at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, in recognition of the progress made by the league in recent seasons.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his gesture, NNL Chairman, George Aluo, assured teams coming for the competition that they will get the right conditions to express themselves in Asaba.
He said: “By this gesture, we’re ready to have a successful completion of the 2024/2025 season and produce the best teams that will play in the top flight next season.
Promising that there would be “no dull moments during the games,’ Aluo said: “Fans will be treated to the best form of football artistry as all the eight qualified teams have what it takes to qualify for the NPFL next season.”
He also promised that the league board in collaboration with the host state will ensure that all logistics will be put on the ground for a successful hosting of the tournament.
