Umar Sadiq has completed his move to Valencia, joining from Real Sociedad on a half season loan deal

Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has completed his move to Valencia, joining from Real Sociedad on a half season loan deal.

Valencia confirmed the loan signing of Sadiq on Saturday morning in a statement on their official website and social media platforms.

“Valencia CF has reached an agreement with Real Sociedad for the signing of Sadiq Umar until June 30, 2025,” the club announced.

“The attacker, a Nigerian international , arrives on loan until the end of the current season and Valencia CF will have an option to buy him at the end of the season.”

Sadiq joins Los Che on a temporary basis but prior to his time at Sociedad, he spent three seasons at UD Almería, where he scored 43 goals and provided 13 assists in 84 games in all competitions.

During the 21-22 campaign, he was one of the main architects of Almería’s promotion to the La Liga Santander from the Segunda division.

The striker also has international experience, having played for clubs such as Partizan Belgrade, Perugia, Glasgow Rangers, NAC Breda, Torino, Bologna, Roma and Spezia.

According to the statement, the Nigerian striker will be presented to the media on Saturday at 2:00 p.m (Nigerian time) at the Media Center of Valencia’s Ciutat Esportiva.

The 27-year-old joined Sociedad from Almeria for around €20m in 2022, but he has only scored four goals in 50 appearances across all competitions
for the La Liga club.

Sadiq has failed to find the net in 11 outings so far this season and has fallen down the pecking order under coach Imanol Alguacil, leading to speculation about his long-term future and his subsequent loan transfer to Valencia.
