NSF: Be courageous, determined, fair-Aiyedatiwa urges athletes

Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, on Monday, urged athletes representing the state to remain courageous, determined, and fair in the National Sports Festival (NSF).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 22nd NSF is holding in Ogun from May 16 to May 30.

Aiyedatiwa stated this while addressing the state contingent at their camp in Babcock University, Ilishan Remo in Ogun.

According to the governor, the team should uphold and surpass the achievements of past generations,

“We are here to encourage you, to identify with you, and to let you know that we are behind you in every way. I am also praying for you.

“As a sports lover, my administration strongly supports sports development in the state.

“Some of you, maybe this is where you’ll be discovered for greater performance later in life, where you can make a career out of that.

“You need to challenge the host state and likes of Delta to achieve victory.

“At some point, Ondo State regularly finished in sixth position; we’ve even come fourth. You must not go below that.

“You will not sustain injury, you will compete in health and strength, and at the end of the day, you will return even better than the way you came. God bless you,” he said.
