Ikoyi Club 1938, at the weekend, honoured winners of the Prime Atlantic Closed Squash Tournament at its end of the year party held in Lagos.

In attendance at the awards were the Group Managing Director, Prime Atlantic Limited, Mr. Ayo Otuyalo and Chairman, Ikoyi Club Squash Section, Mr. Olaomoju Lawal, as well as the captain and other officials.

The winner of the men’s draws, Mr. Clement Efakpokire, went home with an LG Home Theatre, while the first runner up, Akinsope Robert, won a deep freezer.

In the lady’s category, the winner, Mrs. Wunmi Ogunbiyi, got an LG Home Theater, while the first runner up, Mrs. Ransome Kuti, received a deep freezer.

Speaking with The Guardian, Olaomoju said the aim of the event is to bring members together and create solid bond in the club.

“In Ikoyi Club, we have a yearly event called squashtival, which includes young people as well. If the government can create more facilities, it will get them involved at a very early age and hopefully help them stay away from crime,” he said.
