The Allied Independent Wrestling Federations (AIWF) in Africa, a global professional wrestling governing body that functions as a modern and international territory system, has nominated Rev. Samuel Ikpea, a patron and supporter of PWA’s wrestling activities on the continent, for induction into the body’s Hall of Fame in the United States in March 2026.
The induction, according to the president of
AIWF Africa, Olusesan Olukoya, is in appreciation of Ikpea’s support for the body over the years.
The AIWF in Africa, he noted, is a global sanctioning body similar to the historical National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which was founded as a regional promotion in the United States.
Olukoya stated that the AIWF evolved in 2008 into a sanctioning body that unites and promotes independent wrestling promotions worldwide, fostering talent exchange and creating a network of shared championships across numerous countries.
The founder of AIWF, Rick Deezel, said: “The Hall of Fame started in 2005. This is our 20th year. We are putting associates and patrons who have gone the extra mile to support us in the past in the Hall of Fame in 2026, which will be the anniversary show in March. Plaques would be presented to the nominees, and we will do a ceremony at the 2026 anniversary show.”
