International Men’s Day: DOA extends support to Lagos-based grassroots football club
A leading Lagos-based specialised law firm, Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe (DOA), is marking the 2022 International Men’s Day by supporting Team360, a grassroots football club based in Surulere, Lagos, with funds.
The funds, according to the firm, will go into assisting the young boys in Team360 to advance their dreams of playing professional football both for their country Nigeria and internationally.
Already, ahead of the International Men’s Day, DOA has made a deposit of N500,000 into Team360 FC’s account.
Speaking on why it is extending this support to Team360, DOA said the gesture is in line with the firm’s commitment to giving back to the society, locally and internationally, even as it continues to take advantage of any opportunity to make the society a better place.
“As the firm continues to grow, every step of the way, it is important that we uplift our society by giving back to our local communities, which also helps strengthen our nation’s stance economically and which is why this year, to celebrate International Men’s Day, Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe is sponsoring and supporting grassroots football club, Team360,” the firm said in a short documentary released in commemoration of International Men’s Day.
Meanwhile, Team360 FC have expressed their “utmost gratitude” to the law firm of Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe for the donation of N500,000 made into the club’s account.
“We thank your management and organisation for this donation as this will help in getting some training equipment and other logistics needed to foster the team to the next level as we prepare for our upcoming Fusion Football Championship league starting in December 2022,” the club said in a letter of appreciation signed by Hamza Akeem Oladimeji, its president and founder.
International Men’s Day is marked on November 19 every year to recognise and celebrate the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. This year’s event will highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men’s well-being.
DOA has over the years demonstrated commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility that has seen it provide pro-bono services to victims of human rights abuse and less privileged persons; support law students and law student societies in various Nigerian universities, particularly through its internship programme that accepts students all year round; contribute to the development of novel areas of law practice in Nigeria by organising, participating and sponsoring different summits and conferences, among others.
