Lady Captain’s inaugural kitty
Ibadan Golf Club, which has become one of the busiest clubs in the country in recent times, is on the move again. This time the event is the inaugural Lady Captain’s Kitty billed for the lush green 18-hole golf course in Ibadan.
The competition will hold on June 28 and 29 and according to the club’s lady captain, Folashade Oni, it would feature golfers from the club and guest players from other interested golf clubs.
She said the opening day has been reserved for the practice round and cocktail party in the evening, while play will begin on July 29.
The Lady Captain promised a grand and more glamorous event than the previous ones due to the planning and shrewd approach of the new executives of the prestigious golf club.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring a hitch-free and high quality tournament, as cooperation from members and intending participants are quite encouraging,” Oni noted.
She, however, promised to commence her pet project aimed at cultivating and encouraging younger girls from secondary school level into golfing immediately after the inaugural golf kitty.
