Lagos branch defeated Umuahia to win the 2019 Nanka Champions League decided at the Neros Stadium, Eti Nanka on Wednesday.

The competition, which features Nanka indigenes resident in all the cities of the country and overseas, ended goalless in regular time and had to be decided by penalty shootouts.

Lagos proved the better shooters as they scored four of their five kicks, while Umuahia could only score three. The competition features Nanka indigenes resident in all the cities of the country and some from overseas.

The competition, which began on December 22, 2019, attracted prominent Nanka indigenes and their friends including the special guest of honour and traditional ruler of the community, Igwe G.O Ezeilo, the Obu Nanka of Nanka, whose first Ofala celebration and third coronation celebration held on January 4 at his palace.

Also, among the dignitaries were the sponsor of the Champions League, Chief Polycarp Emenike, the Odenigbo of Nanka, P.G Nanka, Chief Paul Chinedu Omereora, Chief Damián Okoye, the Omeudo Nanka, Chief G. Uzulumba and Chief Aguocha Ofomata Akuenwebe.
