Leicester confirms Iheanacho exit
Leicester City on Friday officially confirmed that Super Eagles attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho will leave the club this summer.
The Foxes wrote on their official website: “Also leaving Filbert Way is Kelechi Iheanacho, bringing to an end his seven-year stint in the East Midlands.”
Signing from Manchester City in August 2017, the popular forward has scored 61 goals in the colours of Leicester.

Iheanacho endured a frustrating 2023/24 season with Leicester which saw the forward make just 26 appearances in all competitions which yielded just six goals and three assists.
Leicester did very well to secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League for the 2024–25 season with the Foxes on 94 points after a one-year absence in the elite league.
Iheanacho struggled to contribute and will certainly look for a move elsewhere when his contract expires this summer.
He had also earlier told Leicester fans they will miss him when he leaves. That was during the celebration of their Championship success.

Meanwhile, speculations about the former Manchester City star joining Aston Villa in the summer are high.
Villa manager, Unai Emery has reportedly set sights on the Nigerian as a back-up striker to England international, Ollie Watkins.
Iheanacho’s most memorable moment in the colours of Leicester came when he scored an 89th minute winner against his former club, Man City in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley Stadium in August 2021.
He also won the FA Cup with the Foxes during the 2020/21 season with ‘Seniorman’ playing a prominent role in the club’s triumph.
