Mbachu predicts win for Flamingoes over Korea

Former Super Falcons and Rivers Angels attacking midfielder Stella Mbachu has said the Flamingoes’ opponents, Korea DPR, are beatable at the on-going 2016 Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.

The Nigerian campaigners will confront their Korean counterparts in Saturday’s final group clash at the Amman International Stadium, Amman.

Mbachu said the nation’s under-17 women’s side have the quality texcel against the Asian giants but must be flawless and lethal with their finishing.

“Of course, Flamingoes have good chance to progress from the group if they can record a convincing win against Korea DPR on Saturday.

“We know that anything short of outright victory will make it too tough for them to advance further in the championship.

“Flamingoes have quality, as shown in the last two matches, against Brazil and England, even though the outcomes were not perfect.

“The side’s shortcoming is finishing which cheated them of a deserved victory in the clash against England.

“So if they are able to improve on their finishing and maximise the chances they are certain to overcome the Koreans.

“Everybody knows that Korea DPR are a good side. I know, too, that they are beatable once we are able to get our act right.

“The main problem of the Flamingoes in the on-going championship is simply finishing. Once they deal with it, they are as good as not only qualifying from the group but going as far as contesting the podium dance,” said Mbachu to supersport.com.
