NBBF to decide clubs for promotion, relegation in January
Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has disclosed that it would review the performances of the teams and ratify promotions to the elite division and the relegated teams during its stakeholder meeting in January.
NBBF Spokesman, Patrick Omorodion, told The Guardian that the board was working round the clock to develop the game in the country, adding that it need more logistics and other assistance to make the Nigerian basketball league more exciting.
Omorodion said stakeholders in the game would meet in the last week of January to find solutions to the problems dogging the game in the country, adding that all hands were on deck to make the league more competitive.
“The basketball season ended in Abuja at the weekend and two teams are to move up to the elite division, while two teams in the top division would be relegated.
“No team has been officially pronounced to play in any level of the league. Our target in NBBF is to make the male and female basketball leagues more competitive,’’ he said.
