New Headmasters’, Principals’ Cup competitions get dates

The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has picked dates in August and December for the maiden Headmasters Cup and Principals Cup respectively.

Both competitions, anchored by the Department of Grassroots Sports Development of the Ministry, are part of the minister’s drive to revive grassroots sports while simultaneously spotting fresh talents. They will involve all the country’s primary and secondary schools.

Following an MoU signed by HideaPlus to deliver both competitions, the Headmasters Cup is billed to hold from August 12 to 2, while the Principals Cup will be held from December 7 to 12, 2020.

Other events that are expected to throw up talents in the year are the National Youth Games from September 7 to 17 and the One Service One Medal Game that will run from November 22 to 28 November.

The Sports Ministry and Hideaplus Consultancy Ltd signed an MoU on Tuesday, which gave the company the mandate to organize the National Principals Cup and Headmasters Cup competitions among secondary schools and primary schools across Nigeria.
