Nigeria Athletics Masters set up committee for Finland 2022

As part of arrangements for a successful participation at the Finland 2022 Open Masters Athletics Championships, the Nigeria Athletics Masters have agreed to set up new committee for the event.

As part of arrangements for a successful participation at the Finland 2022 Open Masters Athletics Championships, the Nigeria Athletics Masters have agreed to set up new committee for the event.

President of Nigeria Athletics Masters, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Obajimi, who is also in the executive board member of the Nigeria Athletics Masters (NAM), said that the committee’s work would take effect from the date of their appointment till April, 2022.

According to Obajimi, the terms of the committee is to seek for funds from private and public sectors to support the country taking part in the championship.

The committee is also charged to create awareness and pay courtesy visit to firms, top government officials at state and federal level to solicit their support ahead the championship.

Obajimi charged the Assistant Media Consultant to NAM, Tokunbo Omisakin, to use his wealth of experience to deliver a good job for the boards and Nigeria Athletics Masters.

She also appealed to the Presidency to support the country’s participation at the championship through the office of the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare.

Some members of the newly appointed committee include Mr. Samuel Onikeku, as chairman, while Chief Falilat Ogunkoya will be the vice chairman.

The committee also has Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medallist, ACP Chioma Ajuwan (MON), as member; Dr. Safiyat Yahaya; Mr. Femi Olajide Peter; Mrs. Mariam Adedun; Stephen Itodo; Mr. Alexander Udjoh (Secretary General) and Livinus Osaze (Assistant Secretary).
