NNL’s AGM to decide second-tier league’s kickoff date, says Aluo

Following their successful execution of the 2022-23 season in August, the Nigeria National League (NNL) has set September or the first week in October as the time frame for kickoff of the new season.

Heartland of Owerri won the 2022/23 season at the NNL Super Eight Championship in Asaba, Premier league odds while Sokoto United, Adamawa United, Ikorodu City and Smart City retained their league status at the just-concluded relegation playoffs in Kano.

Aluo said the NNL would key into NFF’s stance to fix the league’s resumption date at the  AGM.

“The Nigeria Premier League will be starting later this month so we are looking at September or the first week of October.”
