The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has invited 26 players for the second part of the screening ahead of the forthcoming World English Scrabble Players Association Championship (WESPAC) slated to hold in Goa, India from October 15 to 19, 2019.

According to the NSF, the much-anticipated Scrabble Lagos Meet Season Two will be hosted by the Lekki Scrabble Club in conjunction with the NSF from February 28 to March 4 at COWLSO Villa, Road 45, off Muiz Banire Street, Lekki Scheme 2, Ajah Lagos.

NSF said the players are expected to arrive in camp on February 28, while departure date is March 4, adding that all arrangements for the success of the screening have been put in place.

Coach of the national team, Anthony Ikolo told The Guardian that the players selected for the championship were the top scrabble stars in Nigeria, adding, “the championship in Lagos would be tough, as the stars will fight for the few spots as Nigeria’s representatives in the world tourney.

“The NSF’s target is to pick the best for the World Cup because Nigeria is one of the top countries in scrabble,” he said.

The first stanza of the screening championship took place in Rivers State early this year.
