Nigeria, Jamaica, Zimbabwe, India set for London spectacle
Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who recently changed his allegiance from England to Nigeria, will debut for the Super Eagles at the 2026 Unity Cup, billed to hold from May 26 to 30.

The Unity Cup, the premier international football tournament celebrating AfroCentric and global diaspora communities, is officially returning to its historic venue, The Valley, home to Charlton Athletic FC.

According to sources at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Okonkwo is among the new crop of players Coach Eric Chelle has listed for the tournament.

Others are Emmanuel Fernandez and Philip Otele, who made their debut for Nigeria in the recent friendly games against Iran and Jordan.

This year’s edition of the four-nation tournament will feature Nigeria, Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and India.

The tournament kicks off with a high-stakes African heavyweight clash between Nigeria and Zimbabwe, which will serve as a massive rematch following their intense 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounters.

With the memories of those hard-fought qualifiers still fresh, the Super Eagles and the Warriors will look to settle the score on neutral ground.

The second semifinal sees Jamaica take on India, a fixture that promises to be as much a spectacle in the stands as it is on the pitch.
