Old boys return as Ngwa High School holds inter-house sports

Members of the Ngwa High School Abaiyi Old Boys Association are among the dignitaries expected to grace the school’s yearly inter-house sports competition scheduled to hold on Monday, March 30 at the school’s sports centre.
 
Ngwa High School, which is one of the legacy schools in the defunct Eastern Region, has a rich list of distinguished old boys, including current Abia State Governor, Alex Chioma Otti, prominent jurists and academics, among others. 
 
Among the dignitaries expected to grace the event, according to the Acting Principal of the school, Rev. Canon John Ikechi Mammah, are Abia State’s Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Goodluck Ubochi; Mayor/Executive Chairman, Osisioma Ngwa Local Council, Chidi Chris Agu; Professor Jasper Jumbo; Rev. Christian Ugwuzor, who is the president-general, Ngwa High School Old Boys Association (NHSOBA); and proprietor of the school, Rev. Nathan C.O Kanu (PhD).
 
The Guardian learnt that the Ngwa High School’s 1984 set has donated a cup for the March Pass, as well as laurels for houses that finish in second and third positions. 
 
The Aba Branch of the association will also reward outstanding athletes at the competition.
