Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje has congratulated the Super Eagles for their victory over Guinea in yesterday’s second group game of the ongoing 2019 Nations Cup taking place in Egypt.

Sodje said the Eagles displayed exceptional skills that curtailed the hard fighting Guineans, adding, however, that the players must remain focused and committed in the championship.

He eulogised Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr for making the necessary changes that impacted on the team and called on the team to see the victory as another call to start working hard for the round of 16 games.

“Rohr’s ability to make the right changes gave the Super Eagles the guile to withstand the Guinean players. The game was tough, but the players fought and took their chance when it mattered most.

“With this victory, they should start working ahead of their round of 16 game. They should continue with the team sprit and take every game as it comes.“The players should realise that they have harder games ahead and therefore should not allow their victories to get into their heads,” he said.
