Players talk tough as LASUSTECH VC tennis cup hots up

With participants expected from various tennis clubs for the 2024 Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Vice-Chancellor’s Cup, players of the host institution, LASUSTECH Tennis Club, are optimistic of claiming all top prizes.

The two-day event will hold between December 6 and 7 inside the tennis section of the LASUSTECH Sports Centre in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Club President, Mojeed Sanni, yesterday stated that their players are in great form ahead of the event, just as he assured that the sponsors, NEM Insurance, Sovereign Trust Insurance and Mutual Benefit Insurance will get good millage for their support.

Tennis players are expected from FAAN Tennis Club, the Police College Tennis Club and Sky Tennis Club, all in Ikeja.

Over 250 tennis players will contest for various prizes in this year’s LASUSTECH Vice Chancellor’s Cup.

Meanwhile, Captain of LASUSTECH Tennis Club, Mr Gafar Tayo Oyewopo, has said that the tournament would be better than past editions.

“We have put in place all that is needed to thrill tennis lovers, enthusiasts and club members in this tournament, which we are using to celebrate our end of year party.

“This is our flagship event, which we elaborately celebrate annually. This year’s edition will be more glamorous because we are hosting three other clubs for the inter-club competition including the FAAN Tennis Club, the Police College Tennis Club and Sky Tennis Club, all of Ikeja. They will be competing for various prizes,” he stated.
