The Nigeria Police Rugby Club, beat table toppers Racing Rugby Club 10-0 at the weekend, to launch a dramatic result in the ongoing South West CMB Building and Investment rugby league, taking place at the main Bowl of national Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Despite the dominance of Police forwards at the early stages of the game, both teams failed to record points in the opening 17 minutes, as there was major battle between the opponents which was well coordinated by the Centre referee, Gbenga Adeniran.
Racing’s backline fumbled with the ball during an attack which led to an interception by Police scrum half and captain, Ramon Bakare, who took advantage of the mistake by picking up the ball and raced 30 meters away for the opening try.

The first half of the game ended 5-0 with Police playing the territorial game.
Racing came all out in the second half looking for a breakthrough but the Police defense remained resilient. They gave away three penalties within 30 meters but Racing’s young fly-half, Monday Alex did not have his kicking boots on the day as he missed all three penalty.

The Police defense continued to work hard as Police prop, Adebabyo Isaac, putting in a man of the match display crossing Racing defense at will all through the match before the tie ended 10-0 in favour of Police RFC.
