Former Juventus star Fabrizio Ravanelli has urged the Old Lady to break the bank for Nigeria and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen if the Turin giants are determined to return to winning ways in the Italian Serie A next season.
Speaking in an interview with Football Italia, the Juventus legend described the former Napoli forward as the ideal fit for Luciano Spalletti’s re-energised side, noting that Osimhen’s pace, power, and goal-scoring instincts would significantly boost the club’s title ambitions.
“I’d go for a top player (as a Juventus striker). If I could choose, I’d say Osimhen,” Ravenelli said.
“Juve must give him a try because he’d be a perfect fit for Spalletti’s game, who knows him well and would get the most out of him.
“Osimhen would be a great signing – he’s strong in the air, quick and can take control of the space on his own and attack the depth.
“Plus, when not in possession, he can also put pressure on opposing defenders; there are few forwards like him.”
Ravenelli will credit Spalletti with the Juventus resurgence.
“It’s all thanks to Luciano. I’d call Spalletti’s effect on the team truly positive on the team and atmosphere,” he remarked.
“Despite a few defeats like those against Cagliari in the league and Atalanta in the Coppa Italia, Juve are now doing really well.
“The credit goes to Luciano, who put the players in the right positions, achieving maximum results.
“Not only that, Spalletti has restored a sense of belonging to the team and quickly imposed his technical and tactical ideas with a fierce counter-pressing of the ball when not in possession.
“Juve are playing really well now, and it’s thanks to the coach.”
Juventus are fourth on the Serie A table with 45 points from 23 matches, 10 points behind leaders Inter Milan.
