Sanwo-Olu, Adsense Media begin football tournament for youths

In its bid to foster unity and spirit of healthy competition, Adsense Media Services has initiated a five-a-side football event, ‘Babajide Sanwo-Olu Lagos Community Challenge’ for youths of Lagos State.

According to Adsense Media Services, the five-a-side tournament is collaboration with the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group and supported by WinnersGoldenBet targeted at discovering talents in the state.The competition, tagged ‘Fair play starts with you,’ according to the organizers, would draw 200 teams in the state, with the matches in the five zones.

The zones include Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Epe and Lagos Mainland.The coordinator of the tournament, Omotayo Aderinola said Ikeja, Badagry, Lagos Island and Mainland would produce two finalists each, while Epe and Ikorodu would produce one finalist.

Aderinola disclosed that the tournament would kick-off tomorrow at the Ikeja Divisional Centre, Opebi Primary School Astro Turf pitch, while matches in other divisions would start on January 26, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches slated for between February 9 and 10.

He said the winner will get a BOS trophy and cash prize of N1 million, while first, second and third runners up will win cash prizes of N500, 000; 250, 000 and 100,000 respectively.
