SILEC Initiatives, Anglican Church launch football campaign against drug abuse
As part of its efforts to help eradicate drug abuse among Nigerian youths, a private sector organisation, SILEC Initiatives, has teamed up with the Anglican Church to promote a football tournament aimed at fighting the scourge.
Tagged ‘Kick out drug abuse from Nigeria awareness creation football tournament,’ the one-day competition will hold at Ado Primary School, AJah, Lekki, Lagos on May 25.
According to the Founder/President, SILEC Initiatives, Sunny Irakpo, apart from football, the tournament will also feature entertainment by comedians, some popular musicians and dancers.
Irakpo said the organisers of the event, which will begin by 2.00 p.m., chose to fight ‘drug abuse from our youths and society through grassroots football’ because it is one game that appeals to many Nigerians.
He called on patriotic Nigerians to join the cause, saying it would help make the country better for all.
