Sports and Youth Development Minister, Sunday Dare, will meet with the 36 states’ commissioners of sports tomorrow in Asaba to discuss issues on sports development, as well as the National Sports Festival.

According to the Special Adviser, Media, to the Minister, John Joshua Akanji, deliberation on the 2020 National Sports Festival billed to take place in Benin will be top on the agenda.

He dismissed speculations that the festival has been postponed till next year as false, saying the ministry has not taken any decision on the event.

The 2020 National Sports Festival, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak early this year, has been in the news since the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 lifted the ban on contact sports.
