Sunshine Stars dedicate Week 10 win to Akeredolu

Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have dedicated their Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Week 10 victory over Rivers United to Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have dedicated their Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Week 10 victory over Rivers United to Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The team said in a statement signed by Media Manager, Mr. Wahab Bankole, that the positive spirit of their new governor played a vital role in the defeat of the Port Harcourt-based Rivers United, which is one of the team representing Nigeria in African club competitions.

“It is our belief that his coming at this time to take charge of the Sunshine State was an act of God as the new dawn begins in Ondo State.“We also salute and thank all soccer loving people of the state, especially the fans and supporters, who came from far and near to witness the important victory.”

Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars have appointed Coach Henry Abiodun as the team’s technical adviser.According to the team’s Sporting Director, Aderemi Adetula, the need to give the team more technical balance informed the decision to draft Coach Abiodun to the technical crew on advisory role. Sunshine Stars, who defeated Rivers United by 1-0 in Akure, will tomorrow take on El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
