Twelve-year-old Goodluck Tersoo, a rising tennis star from Benue State, has made it to the semifinals of the boys U-12 CBN Junior Tennis, where he is the top seed and that of the boys 14 where he was given a wild card to play-up.

The highly talented, smooth hitting player, who is dominating his age group, justified the wild card into the 14s by winning all his three matches in the group stage to qualify for the semifinals.

Tersoo will take on Ghazal Ashim from Oyo State in the Boys U-12 semifinals and in the boys U-14s, he will face Wisdom Effiong from the Uyo-based GEUF Academy.

Eleven-year-old Atilola, who is playing far above her age, was registered for the 14s and given a wild card to play in the U-16s. She breezed through the group stages of the U-14s and in the U-16s came from two sets down in the five set super tie-break format to win 7-10, 9-11, 11-9, 10-3, 10-4.

All semifinal matches in the boys and girls U-12s, U-14s and U-16s were decided late on Friday at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club which will also host the grand finale starting 1:00pm on Saturday.
