Tikon elected into Commonwealth Table Tennis board
The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) at the weekend got a big boost when the president of the federation, Ishaku Tikon, was elected into the executive committee of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Association.
Tikon, who is also the third vice president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) was elected unopposed during the Commonwealth Table Tennis General Assembly held in India.
The Commonwealth Table Tennis Association executive committee is made up of candidates from various continents with each presenting one candidate who must emerge through election as their representative.
Reacting to his election, Tikon traced his victory to hard work, good leadership as could be seen from the global achievement of Nigerian table tennis players and humility to serve.
Tikon said he would continue to work for the development of table tennis not only in Nigeria and Africa, but also at the Commonwealth.
