Nigerian sprint hurdler, Tobiloba ‘Tobi’ Amusan, has claimed another global victory, this time, the prestigious FIN Women Award in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

“I am indeed elated that I have been found worthy to be awarded the best woman in sports,” Amusan said yesterday after receiving the award, which recognises outstanding female leaders, male champions as well as institutions for their commitment to advance the cause of women empowerment within the public and corporate sectors.

“This will always cross my mind, and constantly remind me of how it all started and every effort our team put in to get to where we are now. It gives me so much joy that our efforts are not being overlooked, and that each person in this room is the winners. I want to say thank you all, most importantly (FIN Women). Let this award be a seal of what we can all achieve. Shout out to all women out there doing exploit,” Amusan stated.

Amusan put behind her Tokyo Olympics disappointment by winning the Continental Tour Gold at the Stadion Slaski in Chorzow, Poland in September. She won the100m hurdles event with a time of 12.64s ahead of Olympic bronze medalist, Megan Tapper, who clocked 12.75.
