A confident Umar Sadiq will have his mind set towards netting his third straight La Liga goal when Real Sociedad visit Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday.
Sadiq was exceptional last weekend, as he scored his second goal of the 2023/24 La Liga campaign to help Sociedad play out a 1-1 draw with Osasuna at the Estadio El Sadar.
The lanky striker was brimming with confidence to score more after netting a goal of the season contender two weeks ago to help his side secure a 2-1 victory against Sevilla.
And as Sociedad’s pursuit of the top four in the Spanish La Liga continued against Osasuna, the Nigerian attacking sensation found the back of the net once again in grand style.
He netted the equaliser in the 41st minute after being set up by Igor Zubeldia, after which the in-form Super Eagles striker left the pitch for Mikel Oyarzabal in the 75th minute.
Sadiq has played 13 La Liga games so far this season but has made the starting line-up five times, clocking 439 minutes of action with two goals and one other assist in his record.
The 26-year-old has, meanwhile, said that he hopes to get better with every game as he continues his return to full fitness following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury.
“I feel good, I think I’m getting better step by step because last season I was out. The more I play, the more I get better,” he said while appearing to issue a warning to Villarreal.
